The inaugural TEEAM Treasure Hunt 2011 was successfully organised on 27th March 2011. The entire route covered from Glenmarie to Semenyih. Some 115 hunters in 31 cars arrived early morning at the starting point at Temasya Industrial Park, Glenmarie. Alpha Automation (Selangor) was the hunt’s main sponsor. Hunters were treated to a sumptuous typical Malaysian breakfast before flag off, courtesy of Alpha Automation (Selangor). The company is the sole distributor of Chint Electric in Malaysia.
All teams completed some quizzes before getting a set of questions and tulips (a set of directions). The flag off ceremony took place at the entrance of Alpha Automation (Selangor). Engr Fu Wing Hoong (TEEAM President) flagged off the event with Mr Gao Xiang (General Manager-Asia Pacific of Chint Electric Co, Ltd). It was a good event to foster closer ties among TEEAM members and members’ employees.
The hunting time was extended as most hunters were caught in a traffic jam due to the Qing Ming tomb praying activities in the Semenyih area. The hunters were tasked to purchase “treasures” along the hunt. The “treasures” items such as colour pencils, shoe white, glue, book wrapper, mechanical pencils and liquid paper were later donated to a children’s home. The 4-hour treasure hunt ended at Kaizen Children’s Home in Semenyih. Upon arrival at the finishing point, the hunters were treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch.
While waiting for the results to be announced, hunters did their part of charity by contributing cash donation to the home. Alpha Automation (Selangor) generously donated RM 5,000. An introduction to the home was presented by Ms Agatha Yong (Home’s Chairperson). Kaizen Children’s Home is a charity home for less fortune children. There are currently ten children sheltered in the home. Ms Agatha Yong expressed the home’s gratitude to Alpha Automation (Selangor) and other TEEAM members for their support and generosity.
Hager Engineering team emerged as the Champion. Second prize went to Megalux Lightings, and third to EITA Technologies. It was a splendid day of joy and charity at heart. A big thank you to Alpha Automation (Selangor) for the great support and warm hospitality. TEEAM hopes to receive better response to challenge the Championship in next year’s hunt.
