The 9th international exhibition of transmission & distribution and electrical engineering for the Asean region, Asean Elenex 2011, was held from 20th to 23rd July 2011 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It was held along with Industrial Automation 2011. The exhibition was organised by Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd (MES) and TEEAM was one of the supporting organisations. The 4-day event attracted 510 companies from 36 countries. There were national pavilions from Germany, Romania and Singapore.
The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Malaysia. Other VIPs who were present were YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali (Chairman of Energy Commission), Pn Adeline Iskandar (Vice President of Corporate Affairs, TNB), and Tn Hj Hussin Othman (Chairman of CIRED Malaysia).
Besides local visitors, the event also attracted trade visitors from Australia, Brunei, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, UK, USA and Vietnam. The event provided a good platform for the industries to meet, network and keep abreast of the changing technologies.
Two high quality national conferences on Electrical Safety and Smart Grid were successfully organised. Other technical seminars by selected exhibitors were also opened to all trade visitors.
TEEAM organised a Council meeting during the exhibition to provide opportunity to the Council members to view the latest technology and products, and establish business contacts. TEEAM expressed the Council’s gratitude to MES for hosting the meeting.
The next exhibition, Asean Elenex 2013 will be held from 20th to 23rd March 2013 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
