8th October 2020 – MITI had a Meeting with the Industry Associations and Chambers on the CMCO Implementation in Klang following the sharp rise in COVID 19 cases. TEEAM President, Mr CT Siew attended the physical meeting while Honorary Secretary, Mr PS Lee attended via Zoom.
Following MITI consultation meeting and the subsequent MKN meeting chaired by YAB Prime Minister, the Government has decided to allow all industry and economic sectors in the Klang District to continue operations during this CMCO period starting 9th October 2020 on condition that there is strict compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Enforcement activities during this period would be tightened in view of the rise in Covid-19 cases in the area. Failure to adhere to the SOPs will result in companies being instructed to shut down operations immediately and be subject to punitive penalties. This decision is announced via MITI’s Media Statement.
To ease the movement of coming into and going out of Klang for work, employees must have an authorisation letter from their employer stating the place of work in the event of police roadblocks. Likewise, suppliers/vendors/technicians/sales representatives, etc providing services to companies within Klang must carry a letter stating the purpose of travel and service to be rendered to the company. Logistics activities during the CMCO period would continue as usual with no restrictions as long as goods are transported in commercial vehicles.
TEEAM wishes to remind all members to strictly adhere to the SOPs as currently practiced.
