MITI Engagement Session on WFH

Posted on 21st October 2020 08:57 PM | News and Event

MITI Engagement Session with Industry Associations & Chambers of Commerce on Working From Home (WFH) Practice for Management & Supervisory Staff During CMCO – 21 October 2020.
MITI has issued a Media Statement announcing that it is mandatory for this group to WFH starting 22 October 2020 in line with the decision of the National Security Council as a measure to reduce the risk of infection transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic in areas undergoing the CMCO (Selangor, Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya).
Taking into account the needs of industry which require the presence of a small number of management and supervisory-level employees, MITI agreed to allow a maximum of 10% of employees in the management & supervisory level whose tasks involve accounting, finance, administration, legal, planning and ICT to be in the office, limited to 4 hours only from 10am to 2pm, 3 days a week. Time permitted is fixed and no shift is allowed. Staff can rotate.
Companies do not need to submit an application for this purpose. Employers only need to issue a travel permission letter or work pass for each employee allowed to work during the CMCO period.
As there is no guidelines on swab testing yet and pending MKN and MOH directive, all workers can go ahead to report to work until SOP on swab testing is issued.
Business operations that can operate as normal are production, distribution, sales, transportation, logistics, storage, warehousing, maintenance, project sites and provision of services.
