International Trade Malaysia (INTRADE), is the annual international trade and export exhibition organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) to enhance networking, business matching, exchange of ideas and inspiration among the business communities of different countries, especially those who are seeking to venture into the global market. Themed “The One Place for International Trade”, INTRADE Malaysia 2011 brought ten highlighted industries together on one platform. It is a concept designed to meet the needs of importers and exporters alike, closely aligned to the pulse of the most vibrant export industries in Asean.
Known as Asean’s leading general trade fair, INTRADE Malaysia features only industries, products and services which are export-ready. The Minister of International Trade & Industry, Malaysia, YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed officiated the opening of INTRADE Malaysia 2011.
Exhibitors’ profile covered electronics and electrical, food & beverages, furniture & fittings, gifts, souvenirs & jewellery, information & communications technology, machinery & equipment, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, toiletries & cosmetics, professional services, rubber products and wood products.
MATRADE through its 40 offices worldwide matches the needs of international buyers with Malaysian SME suppliers. SMEs get to meet various trade buyers who have expressed interests in their product range. Successful negotiations can lead to them expanding into the global market.
INTRADE Malaysia 2011provided an interactive platform for business leaders, entrepreneurs and investors to gain insights into global business prospects and opportunities, to network and establish collaboration towards gaining a competitive edge in the challenging global market.
A 10-member TEEAM delegation headed by Ir Steven Ng Khoon Hwa (Deputy President) attended the opening ceremony of INTRADE Malaysia 2011. TEEAM also participated as an exhibitor in this annual MATRADE event.
During the exhibition, TEEAM signed an MOU with The Federation of Electrical & Electronics Suppliers & Manufacturers of the Philippine Inc (PESA). The aim is to mutually promote cooperation in the electrical and electronics industry between Malaysia and Philippines.
It was a fruitful event for business meetings at INTRADE Malaysia 2011.
