The fourth TEEAM Council Meeting for the year 2009-2011 was held in Penang for the third time. The objective of having Council Meeting in other states is to foster fellowship with State Associations. A 26-member delegation comprising Council Members, spouses and Secretariat staff chartered a coach to Penang on 13th November 2009. Some drove to Penang on their own.
Technical Visit to OSRAM
Council Members had the opportunity to visit OSRAM LED plant in Bayan Lepas. Dr Udo Strellar and Mr Lim Kheng Siang of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors gave first hand information on LED (Light-Emitting Diode) production. LED technology is an upcoming trend.
Golf
Members of Penang Electrical Merchants’ Association (PEMA) accompanied some TEEAM Council Members for a round of golf at Bukit Jambul Golf Club.
Networking Dinner
In the evening, all were treated to a sumptuous networking dinner at Maple Gold Palace Restaurant near Gurney Drive. It was a nite to renew acquaintance, foster fellowship and exchange information.
Council Meeting
On the next day, 14th November 2009, Council Members checked out from Sunway Georgetown Hotel and arrived at PEMA premises at 9.30 am to convene the Council Meeting. PEMA Officials who attended were Ir Chong Yew Lam, Mr Lee Boon Hoe, Mr Choo Kwang Wah and Mr Tang Keem Hoong.
The meeting adjourned at 12.30 pm and everyone proceeded to Everyday Restaurant at Red Rock Hotel for lunch which was hosted by PEMA. Thereafter the delegation returned to Kuala Lumpur.
