On 17 October 2024, TEEAM issued a Press Statement on preventive measures on the safe use of electricity following the case of fire in an apartment in Sunway Damansara. All house wiring must be performed by a qualified (ST licensed) electrician for both new installations and modifications. This ensures that the installations meet safety requirements. Additionally, with the increasing popularity of Electric Vehicles (EV), it is essential to properly evaluate the house load before installing an EV charger to prevent overloading the distribution board and causing a fire.
