MITI Virtual Meeting with Industries on MCO 3.0

TEEAM attended the above virtual meeting which MITI held with the industries last night (10 May 2021), regarding issues related to the implementation of MCO 3.0.  The virtual meeting was attended by MITI KSU Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali and MITI Deputy KSU Dato Sri Norazman Ayob.

Members are advised to take note of the following:

1) Employees travelling to work are advised to carry along MITI letter AND employers’ letter/work pass/work ID to avoid issues at police roadblocks.

2) MITI informed that a number of people who had been given employers’ letter to cross districts/states to attend to work matters were abusing it to bring families including spouses and children to cross district/state boundaries for personal reasons.  MITI hoped that employers would monitor their employees and ensure that the employers’ letters are not abused.  The QR code in MITI letter contains the company’s registration including the list of employees which can be verified by the police.

3) The HIDE (Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement) is only a preventive measure and to inform people to take all extraordinary precautions when visiting premises listed in HIDE. The HIDE system will trigger once the premises has 50 positive visitors/employees.  This measure is not to punish the aforesaid premises as they can continue to operate after sanitation is done.  The HIDE system will record the cases using AI for 14 days (7 days before the visit and 7 days after the visit).

4) “Gatekeepers” for all premises must check visitors’ MySejahtera when checking in to ensure visitors/employees are actually registered and safe to be allowed entry i.e. the app shows that they are low risk category.

5) Everyone has to take extra precautions so that the number of COVID-19 cases in the country is brought down to a manageable level. Currently the number of cases has strained the capacity of all our hospitals. If the number of positive cases is not pressed down, MITI warned that it would be high likely that we may go back to MCO 1.0 where only critical sectors are allowed to operate.

All efforts and measures taken are in the best interest of everyone’s health & safety.
