MATRADE’s Market Development Grant (MDG) is a reimbursable grant to assist you and Malaysian SME exporters to promote your products and services globally. The Maximum Grant Amount for you to exhibit at LED EXPO Thailand & SMARTECH ASEAN 2022 is RM 25,000, while your organisation’s lifetime grant limit for MDG is RM 300,000!

Checklist to see if you are eligible for MDG

• Register with MATRADE (Registration is free. Find out more here )
• Incorporated under Companies Act 1965 or Companies Act 2016
• At least 60% equity owned by Malaysians
• Products manufactured in Malaysia or services originated from Malaysia
• Types of Business: Annual Sales or Number of Full-Time Employees
• Manufacturing: Not exceeding RM 50 million or 200 full time employees
• Trading/Services: Not exceeding RM 20 million or 75 full time employees

• Exhibitor Booth Rental Costs
• Exhibitor Booth Construction or Enhancement Costs
• Air Fares
• Hotel Accommodation

Update for Malaysians Vaccinated Travellers to Thailand (Wef 1st May 2022) 

• No longer need a pre-departure PCR test prior to entering Thailand
• No longer need COVID Test upon entry to Thailand
• Insurance Coverage requirement reduced by half at minimum USD 10,000
• No longer need to quarantine upon return to Malaysia
• Need a PCR Test 2 days before departure back to Malaysia, and
• A RTK test 24 hours upon arrival back to Malaysia
