The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM) is a national trade organisation that represents the electrical and electronics industries in Malaysia. TEEAM was established in 1952 and it aims to work closely with all government departments, statutory bodies and the private sector to ensure and promote orderly growth and development of the electrical and electronics industries. TEEAM plays a key role in supporting our members’ diverse needs by representing their views.
As the industries’ leading body, TEEAM is well represented in various Government Ministries and related Agencies. TEEAM participates actively in national development through assisting the Government to shape policies & regulations that affect the combined E&E industries & Engineering Services of the country. TEEAM members are the backbone of the E&E essential products & services. TEEAM has over 1,800 corporate members who have created many job opportunities and have positively contributed to the Malaysian economy.
TEEAM is a member of the Machinery & Equipment Industries Federation (MEIF), a member of the Malaysia Council of M&E Contractors (MCMEA), an affiliate member of Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM), a member of the Machinery & Equipment Productivity Nexus (MEPN) and a life member of The Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor.
As for international affiliation, TEEAM is a member of the ASEAN Federation of Electrical Engineering Contractors (AFEEC) and affiliated to the Federation of Asian Pacific Electrical Contractors Associations (FAPECA).

Objective
Members of TEEAM are expected to promote the aims and objectives of the Association and, in particular, to strive for the highest possible degree of professionalism in their business management and engineering practice within the electrical & electronic trade, industry and services.
Principles of Business Practice, Good Engineering and Management Practice
Apart from compliance with the Laws of the Country, a member should:
- At all times discharge duties and responsibilities as a Member (as a person or Organisation as defined in TEEAM constitution) with integrity and observe the prescribed Principles of Good Business, Engineering and Management Practice determined from time to time by TEEAM and their Division.
- To uphold the standard and reputation of TEEAM.
General
- Have regards for the interests of society in carrying out the policies of the company.
- Have regards for the general safety of consumers and society through good engineering practice and apply or used only safe, genuine products that comply with acceptable standards of the day.
- Engage in continuous learning to enhance competency.
- Accept only work that you are competent to perform and, as necessary, obtain expert’s advice.
- Be conversant with engineering standard relevant to their responsibilities.
