The Malaysian Solar Market
As the world’s third largest producer of PV cells and modules, Malaysia is well positioned to benefit from the anticipated growth of solar installations which is expected to be from 12% and 20% over the next five years.
This complements Malaysia’s green agenda commitment as reflected in policies such as the National Renewable Energy Policy and Action Plan which targets 2,080 MW of renewable energy by 2020 and the 11th Malaysia Plan which aims to increase the share of renewable energy in the country’s electricity generation mix to 11% by 2020.
Potential @ IGEM
As the global solar market continues to grow exponentially, the time is ripe for experts in the industry to capitalise on this rising potential by participating in the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM).
Recognised as ASEAN’s largest green business and innovation platform, IGEM is the ideal avenue to explore the global potential and make inroads into the booming solar market.
Organised by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water annually since 2010 and co-organised by the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia), IGEM boasts a diverse exhibition floor, effective business matching programmes, dynamic networking sessions and insightful conferences on pressing industry topics.
Over the last seven years, IGEM has generated more than RM10 billion in business leads, attracting 383,000 visitors and 2,300 exhibitors from over 50 countries including from China, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, UK and USA.
