SIEF Korea 2016

Posted on 22nd December 2016 03:51 PM | News and Event

Seoul International Electric Fair (SIEF) 2016 was the 21st International Exhibition of the Korea Electrical Industry held to date. The exhibition was held concurrently with Power Generation Korea 2016, Smart Grid 2016 and Inter-Battery 2016 from 5th to 7th October 2016 at COEX Seoul, South Korea. Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy of South Korea, these Annual Exhibitions were organized by the Korea Electrical Manufacturers Association (KOEMA) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

The exhibition showcased Technology and Products for Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, IT Infrastructure, Solar, Measuring Instruments, Renewable Energy and Energy Storage. TEEAM participated in the exhibition and organised some delegates to attend the Foreign Buyers Business-Matching Meeting. TEEAM had an official booth at SIEF to pro-actively promote the Association’s activities and members’ products to the Korean market.

Korea’s power generation increased by an average of 5% annually over the past decade and expects demand to grow 3.7% annually through 2017, primarily driven by industrial use.  Korea plans to raise coal capacity to 44.9 GW by 2017. Korea has the fifth highest nuclear generation capacity and the country is emerging as an international leader in nuclear technology.

Delegates participating as Foreign Buyers had the opportunity to attend Technical Tours to Shinincheon Combined Cycle Power Plant, LS Smart Grid System and KEPCO Energy Efficiency Business Model.

Overall it was a highly fruitful trip for the Delegates who visited the exhibition, attended business meetings and joined the technical tours. A big thank you to KOEMA for all the smooth arrangements and warm Korean hospitality which were accorded us. Well done!
