O n 22nd November 2010, a 4-member research team from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) and the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) visited TEEAM for a general discussion on a research project on “Production-Based Movement under Asean Economic Community (AEC) Framework”.
The research team consists of Asst Prof Santi Tongkaew (School of Economics of UTCC), Asst Prof Wichitra Chalermchaichana (School of Economics of UTCC), Mr Termdham Sitthilert (Lecturer, School of Economics of UTCC) and Ms Jittikarn Wongkampoo (Research Fellow of ITD).
TEEAM officials, Ir Chew Shee Fuee (Vice President), Mr Ho Khai Hong (Honorary Secretary) and Ir Rocky Wong Hon Thang (Honorary Fellow cum Technical Adviser) received the visiting team from UTCC and ITD.
The objectives of the research were to study the competition situation in the industry of electrical & electronics, textile & apparel and food processing in AEC member countries; to study the factors that influence these industries; to study the situation and trend of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) in AEC member countries; and to study the situation and trend of production based movement of the three industries.
The ultimate research objective was to encourage cross-border trade and investment flows among Asean countries in line with the establishment of the AEC in 2015. It was a fruitful meeting and a group photo capped off the event.
