ENERtec Asia 2026 Strengthens Malaysia’s Position in the Regional Energy Transition

ENERtec Asia 2026, ASEAN’s premier energy technology exhibition and conference, was successfully held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 3 to 5 June 2026. Organised by Informa Markets Malaysia and co-hosted by TEEAM, the event brought together key stakeholders from across the regional energy ecosystem to explore emerging technologies, business opportunities, and strategies for a sustainable energy future.

Held under the theme “Energy & AI: The Synergy for Energy Transition”, ENERtec Asia 2026 highlighted the growing importance of energy infrastructure in supporting artificial intelligence (AI), data centres, advanced manufacturing, and digital transformation. The exhibition and conference provided an important platform for discussions on renewable energy integration, energy storage systems, grid modernisation, industrial energy efficiency, and decarbonisation initiatives.

The event attracted more than 12,000 industry professionals from over 60 countries and regions and featured approximately 1,000 exhibiting brands occupying seven exhibition halls! Industry leaders, policymakers, investors, technology providers, utilities, consultants, manufacturers, and end-users gathered to exchange knowledge and explore solutions to address the region’s rapidly evolving energy challenges.

A key focus of the exhibition was the need for reliable and sustainable power infrastructure to support Southeast Asia’s growing digital economy. Discussions at the WATT’S NEXT Conference emphasised the critical roles of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy deployment, AI infrastructure, and grid resilience in ensuring long-term energy security and supporting future economic growth.

As co-host of ENERtec Asia 2026, TEEAM played an active role in supporting the event and reinforcing its commitment to advancing Malaysia’s electrical and energy industries. The exhibition also provided an excellent platform for TEEAM members to showcase their products, services, and technological innovations to both local and international visitors.

The event was strongly supported by TEEAM member companies and many other industry players from the electrical and energy sectors, who participated as exhibitors.  Their participation reflected the strength and diversity of Malaysian companies in areas such as electrical distribution, testing and measurement, cable technologies, industrial solutions, energy efficiency, solar, lighting and power infrastructure.

The strong presence of local and international exhibitors provided visitors with valuable opportunities to explore the latest technologies, products, and solutions that are shaping the future of the energy and electrical industries. It also highlighted the important role played by Malaysian companies in supporting the nation’s energy transition, industrial development, and growing digital economy.

TEEAM’s proactive leadership also demonstrated its strong commitment to the event, with members of the Executive Committee (EXCO) and Council present in full force throughout the exhibition! Their active participation in welcoming guests, engaging with exhibitors, and networking with industry stakeholders underscored TEEAM’s dedication to supporting the growth and development of the electrical and energy industries in Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Adding further significance to the event was the presence of distinguished guests from the ASEAN Federation of Electrical Engineering Contractors (AFEEC) and the Federation of Asia Pacific Electrical Contractors Associations (FAPECA), who were invited by TEEAM and Informa Markets to visit ENERtec Asia 2026 and strengthen regional industry ties.

The visiting delegation comprised Mr. Brady Choi of the Hong Kong Electrical Contractors Association (HKECA); Mr. Korbkit Saduakkarn and Mr. Francis Chua of the Thai Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Association (TEMCA); Mr. Somchai Virabhak and Mr. Thong Fatt Lim of the Singapore Electrical Contractors & Licensed Electrical Workers Association (SECA); and Engr. Cyril C. Salamanque together with Mr. Carmelo Jimson Uranza of the Society of Philippine Electrotechnical Constructors & Suppliers (SPECS).

Their presence provided an excellent opportunity for networking, exchange of industry insights, and discussions on regional cooperation in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities within the electrical and energy sectors.

The industry-centric event also received strong support from TEEAM’s fellow industry State Associations from across Malaysia. Members from the Electrical Association of Sarawak & Sabah (EASS), the Perak Electrical Association (PEA), Persatuan Kekompetenan Penjaga Jentera & Pendawai Elektrik (PKPPE), Perak (i.e., The Perak Electrical Chargemen & Wiremen Competency Association), and the Johor Bahru Electrical & Electronics Association (JBEEA) were present at the exhibition.

The participation of these local and international associations underscored the importance of win-win collaboration amongst industry stakeholders in promoting professional development, knowledge sharing, business opportunities, and the advancement of the electrical and energy industries throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Throughout the three-day event, exhibitors and visitors benefited from extensive networking opportunities, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and business matching sessions. The exhibition also enabled participants to gain valuable insights into the latest developments in energy technologies and market trends shaping the future of the industry.

ENERtec Asia continues to strengthen its position as a leading regional platform for industry engagement, innovation, and collaboration. The successful organisation of ENERtec Asia 2026 demonstrates the growing importance of the energy sector in supporting economic development, sustainability goals, and the ongoing digital transformation of Southeast Asia.

TEEAM is proud to have co-hosted this significant industry event and remains committed to fostering meaningful collaboration with industry stakeholders in advancing a resilient, sustainable, and future-ready energy ecosystem for Malaysia and the wider Asian region.

Building on the success of ENERtec Asia 2026, TEEAM looks forward to welcoming the industry once again at ENERtec Asia 2028, which will be held from 13 to 15 June 2028 at the KLCC, where industry leaders, innovators, and professionals will continue to shape the future of energy together.
