Wage Subsidy Programme under the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package
The Wage Subsidy Programme provides financial assistance to employers who experience more than 50% fall in revenue to enable them to retain their employees. Qualifying conditions are:
a) Employers with declining revenue of more than 50% since January 2020 by comparing total sales in January 2020 and the following months.
b) The subsidy eligibility is limited to 100 employees per company registered and contributing to the Employment Insurance System (EIS) with wages of RM4,000 and below.
c) Employers are NOT allowed to terminate employees or force employees to take unpaid leave or cut salaries for a period of three months after the implementation of this programme.
Under the programme, employer gets RM600 per employee per month for a maximum of three months. Payment is credited to the employer’s account based on the number of eligible employees within seven days of submission of application.
Applications can be made by employers from 1st April 2020 at https://www.perkeso.gov.my/ index.php/ms/program-subsidi- upah
Duly completed forms must also be submitted with other supporting documents including SSM/ROB/ROS certificate, MyCOID, Bank Account Statement, Akuan Pengisytiharan PSU50 and Borang Senarai Pekerja.
