PERKESO Prihatin Saringan Programme – Scope Expanded with Screening Subsidy for Employers
The Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) has issued a Media Statement on the scope of PERKESO Prihatin Saringan Programme (PSP) to be expanded with screening subsidy for employers through SOCSO. With effect from 1st June 2020, Employers are allowed to claim a subsidy of RM150 for each of the COVID-19 screening undertaken by their workers, who are SOCSO contributors and the COVID-19 tests are conducted in any clinic or hospital approved by the Ministry of Health.
This screening programme is introduced to speed up the COVID-19 test and to facilitate testing for workers who do not wish to wait for the queue. The objective of the screening subsidy is to expand the reach of COVID-19 screenings for workers to more service providers other than those appointed by SOCSO.
Under this subsidy programme, foreign workers in the construction and security services sectors in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur will be prioritised for the COVID-19 screening. This is in line with the Government’s recommendation to undertake targeted screening at high-risk workers to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.
Members who do not wish to utilise the RM150 screening subsidy may continue to engage the service of the existing SOCSO Screening Programme based on appointments arranged with the SOCSO appointed service providers. SOCSO would bear the cost for these Covid-19 Screenings which can be carried out through arrangement with the SOCSO appointed service providers either at work sites or at the service provider’s premises.
The procedure of the subsidy programme will be updated from time to time. Latest information on the PERKESO PSP operations will be made available at the Prihatin Portal (https://prihatin.perkeso.gov. my) provided by SOCSO.
